1 Scope

1.1 This Outline describes tests for evaluating the performance of immersion cooling fluids such as, flammability and dielectric strength. These fluids are intended for use with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Equipment.

1.2 This Outline also describes tests for evaluating the characteristics of immersion cooling fluids, such as viscosity, oxidative stability, and analytical test methods.

1.3 This Outline does not investigate other properties of immersion cooling fluids, such as solubility and toxicity.

1.4 This Outline does not cover the compatibility of the insulating liquid with the equipment, cabinet, enclosure, or other materials/components. Compatibility is to be determined by the end-product standard.

1.5 The acceptability of an immersion cooling fluid in a particular application is to be judged under the applicable requirements in the standard covering the equipment.
